The Automatic Failover feature in Open-E DSS enables the Open-E DSS server to automatically switch over from a Primary storage server to a Secondary storage server in the event of failure in the Primary storage server or for scheduled maintenance. This is Active/Passive, multi-volume, iSCSI Failover with multitasking. Great for environments requiring high-availability of their data.

NDMP (Network Data Management Protocol) is the open standard protocol used to control backup and recovery data streams between a primary storage data server and a secondary storage backup server in heterogeneous network environments. Open-E's implementation of NDMP is supported by Symantec NetBackup, EMC Networker, CA BrightStor and others. Perfect for seamless integration with your existing backup applications.

The WORM (Write Once Read Many) feature allows data to be permanently written to disk becoming read-only thus preventing accidental modification or erasure of the data. Critical where long retention of documents is required, like educational institutions and government agencies.
