The software is built on the most scalable and flexible 128-bit file system which provides practically unlimited file size. Data management <\/strong><\/p>\n
To ensure data safety and availability, Open-E JovianDSS uses disk redundancy\u00a0in form of n-way mirrors and RAID arrays with up to three\u00a0parity disks. It also includes\u00a0RAM and SSD cache that tier hot data between each other to increase performance. Hybrid storage pools in turn\u00a0utilize the I\/O performance of SSDs and high capacity of HDDs in a single system. Moreover, Open-E JovianDSS allows unlimited snapshots and clones that can be remotely activated via CLI and enables easy backup. This\u00a0is worth remembering, as in most legacy solutions, the limit for snapshots is set to 255. Storage service reports\u00a0generate automatic and periodic reports to manage the performance of the system and integrate it into management solutions based on SNMP or external log server. Thin provisioning\u00a0virtually simulates a bigger volume than is physically available, and allows growing it on the fly without the need to re-format the file-system.<\/p>\n
