This means that after this date the product&#8217;s licenses will not be available for purchase anymore, and Open-E will no longer provide any software updates.<\/p>\n<p>Open-E DSS V7 is a Linux and XFS-based data storage software that was first released back in 2012. It was one of the best-selling Open-E\u2019s data storage products, appreciated by customers and data storage experts around the world. The system was awarded numerous data storage market awards, such as the Storage Insider Readers&#8217; Choice Award 2019 and the IT Professional Product of the Year 2018.<\/p>\n<h2>Open-E DSS V7 EOL Most Important Dates<\/h2>\n<p>To help you with this transition, we have prepared some important dates and information for you:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q4, 2023<\/strong>: In Q4 2023 there will be the last Open-E DSS V7 software update, Up75. After that, no further updates will be provided.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 31th, 2024<\/strong>: This will be the last order date (LOD) for Open-E DSS V7 licenses and support renewals. After this date, you will not be able to purchase or renew any licenses or support contracts for Open-E DSS V7.<\/p>\n<p><strong>November 1st, 2024<\/strong>: This will be the end of life (EOL) date for Open-E DSS V7. You will still be able to use your existing licenses and support contracts until they expire, but you will not be able to extend them.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Open-E DSS V7 Will be Discontinued?<\/h2>\n<p>The reason for discontinuing Open-E DSS V7 is our focus on the ZFS-based product, which offers superior performance, reliability, and scalability for data storage solutions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.open-e.com\/products\/jovian-data-storage-software\/general-information\/\"><strong>Open-E JovianDSS<\/strong><\/a>, a high-performance ZFS- and Linux-based data storage software designed for enterprise environments.
