Open-E DSS V7 includes new and enhanced features:
- Active-Active Failover for iSCSI Volumes
(seperately purchased license key) for enabling the active mode on two
cluster nodes simultaneously in order to ensure better load balancing and an
improved overall performance.
- Improved Active-Passive Failover functionality.
- Improved iSCSI
Failover Configuration for a fast and comfortable failover setup in high availability environments.
- New
improved GUI with Status Icons for an easy overview of implemented hardware.
- Increased number of
supported CPUs.
- Full focus on 64-bit Architecture.
- Existing support licenses will remain untouched.

Please keep in mind: - Active-Active Failover for iSCSI Volumes is available for Open-E DSS V7 only.
- NAS (NFS) Failover is not available for Open-E DSS V7 and can be used in Open-E DSS V6.
- 32-bit Architecture is still supported in Open-E DSS V6.
- Internal Backup Functionality is kept in Open-E DSS V6 due to the very low usage by our customers.
