Open-E DSS V7 Product Update:
Up to 10x faster replications

The new update up12 build 10529 of Open-E DSS V7 is available and ready to be downloaded from our website. We highly recommend downloading this update to benefit from the latest version and all included improvements!

What's new?

Thanks to improved volume replication, random writes to mirrored volumes are now up to 10 times faster than in the previous version. But the huge improvement of Volume Replication performance is not the only one. 

Here's what is new:
  • Dynamically managed re-sync bandwidth of Volume Replication
  • Tuning parameters of Volume Replication for advanced users
  • Field-proven reliability with superior performance in Hyper-V Clusters
  • VMware tools for ESXi 5.x (plug-in)
  • Improved overall performance with multi-core CPU
  • Support for Adaptec Series 8 (maxCache Plus caching technology)
  • Support for Mellanox Ethernet cards 40Gbps (mlx4_en, v.2.1) and Infiniband cards 40Gbps
    (mlx4_ib, v.1.0)
  • Mellanox cards tuning tools
  • Possibility to assign snapshots to logical volumes via API

What's updated?

This product update includes an update to Kernel 3.4.69 as well as an update of DRBD to version 8.4.3. Our R&D Team additionally updated IRQ-balance, a daemon to balance interrupts for SMP systems, to version 1.0.7.
