Advanced storage features

Our R&D and QA teams have been working very hard to provide ZFS-based Open-E JovianDSS with the best features for delivering high-level performance, easy backup and simplified management in Enterprise-sized storage environments. The new update includes: ZFS Snapshots and Snapshots-based Clones CLI access via SSH Support for Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS)

What does it mean for you?
Consistent backup and simplified management

Thanks to Snapshots, point-in-time copies of volumes can be created, providing instant backup that takes almost no disk space. On the other hand, Clones enable administrators to use identical copies of their production environments i.e. for testing, as they can be changed or deleted without affecting the original data. 

Also, thanks to the remote management of storage via SSH (Secure Shell) users can access securely the command line interface (CLI) to modify their storage configuration. Additionally included in this update of Open-E JovianDSS is the Open-E VSS Hardware Provider for taking automatic Snapshots of volumes, triggered by Volume Shadow Copy Services. This technology enables you to backup and recover a running storage environment.
