High-Availability

Open-E JovianDSS supports two cluster configurations:
Shared High Availability Cluster
Two server nodes are connected to shared storage (one or more JBODs). This cluster can use a wide variety of protocols including SAS, FC, iSCSI and PCIe. That being said the distance between the nodes can’t be more than 30ft/10m, which makes it better for
in-house purposes.
Non-Shared High Availability Cluster
Each node has its own drives mirrored between the nodes. It also allows mirroring data between two locations over Ethernet, which protects them against any kind of natural disaster. This is why a
non-shared High Availability cluster solution is perfect for data centers.
