KNOWN ISSUES:

  • In case of using DSS V7 as Virtual Machine, bonding ALB ALB bonding is not supported. Please use another type of bonding.
  • Samba shares that were mapped on clients’ machines before the update will be unavailable due to the change SMB protocol version from 2 to 3. In this case, please disconnect network drive and map network drive again on clients’ machines or reboot clients’ machine.
  • In case of using ADS authentication method, the GUI Function "Quota for members of the group" does not work properly. Please use the GUI Function "User Quota".
  • PDC Authentication method will work only with the domains that were installed on Windows NT.
  • In case of using NFS Failover with Mac OS NFS client, please use the following:
        mount command: mount -t nfs -o hard,udp IP:/share_name /destination_directory
  • In case of a problem with the active Areca Raid Storage Manager it will be necessary to allow the web browser for a connection on a restricted port. In case of using Firefox: In a new tab, type about:config, next use right-click and choose Add new setting and enter in name dialog: network.security.ports.banned.override with value 6667.
  • Update to a new version cause that Memtest86+ will not be updated. In this case, please use the Memtest86+ on the prepared USB stick or CD.
  • In case of changing the e1000e driver parameters, information about a non-existing file or directory can be displayed on screen. The changed parameters will be respected after a reboot of the system.
  • "Allow access IP" function in "Data (file) replication agent settings" form does not work in case of choosing encrypted connection when creating Data (File) Replication task.
  • After UPS configuration, it is necessary to do manual tests in order to verify if the UPS works correctly. In some environments, UPS status on GUI can show ONLINE even after incorrect configuration.
  • Backup agents cannot be used when Failover service is started.
  • Older versions of Myricom cards can work unstable.
  • Function "nas_user_rename" in CLI/API returns an Internal Error, but the action is finished successfully.
  • It is not possible to install DSS on a disk which contains SW RAID metadata.
  • In some environments, the help link in Adaptec maxView Storage Manager is not working.
  • It is not possible to change maxView Storage Manager default aac user password.
  • There is no Persistent Reservation synchronization when failover is triggered by lack of access to ping nodes with a replication link interrupted at the same time.
  • Sometimes Persistent Reservation statuses are not updated after hosts binding.
  • In case of upgrading from DSS V6 version 6.0up95 or older, you can experience a problem with user modified driver options, which are not set properly during system booting. In order to resolve it, please go to the Console screen, enter "ctrl-alt-t -> Modify driver options" and apply the settings once again. The settings will be properly preserved in further versions.
  • Synchronize UID and GID database with NIS server does not work properly.
  • In case of more than one Domain Controller (DC) in the same forest, connection to one of those DC's can sometimes be lost.
  • MPIO mode with FC HBA's in INITIATOR mode does not work. MPIO will function in FC TARGET mode.
  • After changing the default volume group (Select Default Volume Group) current settings will not be kept. To keep the current settings, use the Save settings function in WebGUI before switching the VG and restoring these settings. Afterwards, the system will need to be rebooted.
  • Remote and console tools for managing FC do not work.
  • In case of downgrade, it is necessary to configure Volume Replication tasks and Failover service again. Otherwise, it may not work correctly.
  • It is strongly not recommended to use DHCP in production environments. Using DHCP can cause various problems, such as:
    • IP address from DHCP may not be assigned after system reboot.
    • after modifying the IP address on the DHCP server side, the address may not be updated on the system side.
    • when using DHCP, the system may suddenly lose its default gateway settings.
  • The TUI (console) does not refresh automatically after changing the network settings on Web-GUI.
  • Unable to connect to AFP share (Netatalk) using the LDAP user authentication.
  • In case of heavy workload ATTO FC initiator may behave unstable.
  • System cannot boot in UEFI mode.
  • After restarting one of the cluster nodes while using DRBD with NAS volumes, the mode for the DRBD resource tends to return an incorrect status. In order to resolve this, the cluster node should be restarted once again.
  • It is impossible to access the resources using AFP and external LDAP with username and password selected as the authentication method. In order to access resources using AFP and the external LDAP selected as the authentication method, anonymous authorization should be used.
  • The e-mail notification functionality for the LSI Storage Authority tool does not work properly.
  • FC Qlogic OEM controllers branded by 3rd party manufacturers may not work stably. In order to provide stability we recommend using genuine FC Qlogic controllers.
  • The online system update functionality (Maintenance -> Software update -> Update downloader) does not work properly. Therefore, please download the ISO file with up71 from website or from the FTP server and upload it in GUI (Maintenance -> Software update -> System software update).
